Fit Tips #4: Scaling the Scale

Do not put all your hopes into the scale...lean body mass is more important.

The scale is the least valuable tool in terms of physique.  Your main goals in building a lean physique should be

building muscle and body fat reduction.  The equation is very simple:  the more lean body mass you have, the less body fat you will carry around.  Yes losing excess body weight can be of great benefit if you are overweight.  The body does not function optimally carrying excessive weight.  But you cannot live by the scale.  For example two females who have the same body structure, same height and weight.  Both 5'3" and 130lbs.  But one is 40% BF and the other is 20% BF.  They will have completely different looks.  And all the scale tells them is 130lbs.  Eat extra clean, lift heavy weights, sprint really fast.  Rinse, repeat.
